W 15/04/1924. Previously unknown, this carriage came to light as the private property where it was located was going through change of ownership. When discovered, it was in poor structural condition: it was cut into 2 halves to move to site upon withdrawal, the non-brake end had little floor left and lots of missing roof but many original features, including picture frames complete with photographs remained (see final additional photograph below). 02/20: despite many avenues having been explored, condition, tight timescales and potential costs have made it impossible to secure a way of restoring this vehicle. However, many sections, features and components have been recovered and will go into the restoration of GNR 2935, ECJS 189 and GNR carriages at Quainton (qv).
