Additional Notes | Vehicle's origin uncertain. Some North London Railway features, 23ft long by 8ft 1in wide, compartments very small at 4ft 7 between seat backs. However, family history points towards Corringham Light Railway but no recorded evidence of a carriage like this exists on the railway. Vehicle arrived on site c.1919 after owner's grandfather returned from WW1 and purchased plot of land, Originally lived in until bungalow built in front of it and then used as a shed / workshop. Following owner's grandmother passing away, the property is now up for sale so carriage may be at risk. Further assistance in identifying its origin would be welcome. |
