Additional Notes | Type B. Body P?, at Casterton till purchased for Northants Steam Railway scheme in 1985 (ex dept'l): there till sold 1998. To Southall: then Carnforth by 11/00. Deteriorating whilst in open storage. However, by 07/13 rebuilt and back into main line service in the 'Royal Scotsman' set (replacing 99131 'Victory' - this gave the Royal Scotsman set 100 mph capability). Has been allocated TOPS number 99960 (last used for Gresley TK 23890 on the NYMR). Ownership transferred to the Belmond Group early 2014. 02/15: now in Royal Scotsman Set BT55 based at Carnforth, operationally based at Edinburgh Craigentinny (Summer only). 11/17: now in Set EC00 based at Eastleigh Works in the care of Arlington Fleet Services Limited, operationally based at Edinburgh Craigentinny (Summer only). |
