Additional Notes 6 a side body: one of 27 built by 02/1900. Used on Liverpool to Enfield suburban services. W 1927. Grounded at Mattishall as part of a bungalow. P, donated to Midkand and Great Northern Joint Railway Society and to North Norfolk Railway 08/03 for eventual restoration using chassis of GNR 46 (qv). Built as a steel underframe vehicle - underframe still in position. Restoration began at end of 2005. By 03/10: resting on chassis of GNR 46 and in workshops for restoration; later accommodated on navy wagon 269. 02/18: unification of the body and underframe completed, following 11 months' work rebuilding the underframe using parts attached to the original GER solebars - so this body now has wheels for the first time in 91 years. 09/19: external lining and lettering now in progress, along with final touches to interior, which will include facilities for passengers in wheelchairs. 10/19: back into passenger service.
