Additional Notes Built as Mk 1 TSO Ashford/Eastleigh. Converted 1966 at York to Class 491 DTSO (Lot 30771) for 4-TC unit 404 (later 8004). Diagrams 900, EE266. B5 bogies fitted on conversion. Used as replacement in 4VEP unit 3169/3582 between 1992-2004. To Hastings Diesels by 2/06 but still at MoD Shoeburyness. To St Leonards by 10/08 (owned by St Leonards Railway Engineering Ltd). Used as a materials store. 15/05/17: delivered by road to Swanage Railway - - work to complete this vehicle, 70824 and 76322 (qv) will be undertaken by Swanage Railway volunteers to enable a 3-TC to enter service.
