Additional Notes Invalid Saloon. Classed as CK by LNER. Rebuilt as DE's Saloon in 1951. P 1972 by SRPS, and at Falkirk till 1981. Corridor connection added at one end. Saw service as "Buffer Stop" catering vehicle until permanent café built. By 08/12: interior restoration well under way with exterior work also progressing. Mechanical overhaul to start soon. By 08/13: interior work completed on kitchen and one saloon. External painting in progress, with one end completed and lined out. 08/16: now just awaits final finishing internally and externally. 08/17: now fully painted and lined (see main photo); some internal work to complete along with mechanical issues, but well on the way. 11/18: final finishing - lining and lettering - in progress; work on the interior almost complete. 11/20: lining and lettering process now in its final stages. 04/23: bodywork complete; running gear overhaul in progress with many new parts and others refurbished with new bushes.
